Day 1: Introduction to Ecology
Morning Session: Introduction to ecosystems and their components. Understanding food chains and webs.
Afternoon Session: Documetry on the ecosystem (forest, pond, or park) for observation and analysis. Students identify different organisms and their roles in the ecosystem. discussion on the learning from this documentary.
Day 2: Botanical Exploration
Morning Session: Introduction to plant biology, including plant structure and function.
Afternoon Session: Botanical scavenger hunt in the camp surroundings. Students collect samples of different plant species, identify them, and discuss their adaptations.
Day 3: Zoological Adventure
Morning Session: Introduction to animal diversity and classification.
Afternoon Session: Visit to a local zoo or wildlife sanctuary. Students observe various animals, learn about their habitats, behaviors, and conservation status.
Day 4: Microscopic World
Morning Session: Introduction to microscopy and cell biology.
Afternoon Session: Hands-on microscopy session. Students prepare slides and observe plant and animal cells under the microscope. Discussion on cell structure and function.
Day 5: Environmental Conservation
Morning Session: Discussion on environmental issues and their impact on ecosystems.
Afternoon Session: Environmental conservation activities such as tree planting, garbage cleanup, or creating bird feeders. Students understand the importance of conservation efforts for maintaining biodiversity.
Day 6: Biotechnology Workshop
Morning Session: Introduction to biotechnology and its applications in various fields.
Afternoon Session: Hands-on biotechnology experiments such as DNA extraction or bacterial culture. Students learn about the techniques and ethical considerations in biotechnology.
Day 7: Culmination and Presentations
Morning Session: Recap of the week's activities and lessons learned.
Afternoon Session: Students prepare and present their projects or findings from the week. This can include presentations, posters, or skits showcasing their understanding of biology concepts and their experiences during the camp.
Closing Ceremony: Certificates distribution and appreciation of students' participation and enthusiasm throughout the camp. Encouragement to continue exploring and learning about biology beyond the camp.
