IIT JEE

Purpose: IIT JEE is conducted to select eligible candidates for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and some other reputed engineering colleges across India. The IITs are renowned for providing world-class engineering education and research opportunities, making the exam highly competitive and challenging.

Exam Format: there are two main papers in the IIT JEE exam: JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

JEE Main: This was the initial stage of the examination and served as a qualifying test for JEE Advanced. It was conducted twice a year in online mode (computer-based test) and was open to all engineering aspirants seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes), and other non-IIT engineering colleges. The paper consisted of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
JEE Advanced: Only the top candidates from JEE Main were eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. This exam was conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. JEE Advanced consisted of two papers, usually held on the same day, and the questions were more in-depth and analytical in nature.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for JEE Main, candidates needed to have completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination. There were specific subject requirements and minimum percentage criteria, which varied depending on the category (General, OBC, SC/ST, etc.) to which the candidate belonged. Additionally, candidates could appear for JEE Main up to three consecutive years, provided they met the age eligibility.

For JEE Advanced, candidates had to secure a certain rank in the JEE Main and fulfill other specific criteria set by the conducting body.

Preparation: IIT JEE is one of the most challenging exams in India, requiring a comprehensive and well-structured study plan. . Practicing previous years' question papers and mock tests was crucial to understanding the exam pattern and gaining confidence.
